Treatment Methods for OCD, Anxiety, and Other Disorders
Harold Kirby, LCSW/BCD, is the founder and director of the Mindful Stress & Anxiety Management center. He is a specialist in the treatment of OCD and anxiety who prides himself on providing effective, empirically-based treatments. The needs of each individual are unique, and Harold recognizes that each patient’s needs inform the best-practice treatment method chosen. All of the treatment methods he employs are well-tested standards in the field, including:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy
- Behavior Therapy, primarily using Exposure/ Response Prevention (E/RP)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Group
- Free OCD Support Group
- 6-Week Mindfulness Course
Harold offers comprehensive treatment plans that includes intensive individual treatment, as well as group experiences. For example, Harold—a certified trainer for mindfulness and grief recovery—leads an OCD support group, a mindfulness training group, and a grief recovery group. For many people undergoing individual treatment, group experiences augment their recovery and help to prevent relapse.
Furthermore, Harold offers a 6-Week Mindfulness Course which combines Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and a degree of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This course is designed for clients who suffer from chronic, mildly or moderately debilitating stress and anxiety, and is used concurrently with standard treatment.
