Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Group
DBT Skills Group
Not currently meeting. Next meeting TBA.
The DBT skills group focuses on learning and applying behavioral skills in the areas of:
- emotion regulation
- mindfulness
- interpersonal effectiveness
- distress tolerance
This group is based on Marsha Linehan’s DBT skills training model. It is a good fit for individuals who struggle to regulate emotions and behaviors that create difficulties in their everyday life. For more information, you can read about the DBT model in the post “What is DBT?“
The training will help its members learn adaptive behaviors to use when difficulties inevitably arise in life. The group focuses on skills. It also commits to a nonjudgmental perspective. We welcome humor, levity, wisdom, kindness, and compassion!
All members must have their own individual therapist. This group will not function to replace therapy. Also, each session costs $50, which must be paid at every session. Finally, if you have out-of-network benefits, you may be able to seek reimbursement. You will be provided with an itemized receipt.
